Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters Board Member Christopher Thomas presented the organization's Diamond Circle Award to Roger Carroll at the September 24, 2010 luncheon for Roy Clark. Below are Mr. Thomas' remarks introducing Mr. Carroll:

Today’s honoree is an announcer, musical consultant, actor and studio executive.

Our honoree started his outstanding announcing career at the age of 15 at WFMD Frederick, Maryland, but was soon to become the youngest staff announcer in the history of the ABC Network, Hollywood…just 18 at the time. He was “On the Air” at KABC for ten years and, for 21 years, as our man puts it, “played records for Gene Autry at KMPC.” The Los Angeles Times voted his show “The Best Popular Music Show in Southern California.”

His announcing career includes television specials for Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Henry Mancini, Andy Williams, Dionne Warwick, Pearl Bailey, Carole Channing, Johnny Carson, “The Glenn Campbell Goodtime Hour,” “Tony Orlando and Dawn” and of course…“The Smothers Brother’s Comedy Hour” to name just a few.
