The American Forces Radio and Television service touched a lot of people. Whether talent, support or listeners it touched a lot of us in ways that stateside media could only dream of. It was more than just the radio, it was home. Each of us have a piece of what it meant. Together it tells a story. Thank you for your contributions. Sometimes it's audio, pictures or memorabilia. I enjoy this site. We were stationed overseas 3 times and enjoyed AFN and AFKN radio and tv. I have fond memories of AFN in Germany in the early 70's telling us how to behave in that country: "In Berlin, Connecticut, it is ok for a woman to go out in public with rollers in her hair; in Berlin, Germany, it is not!" Or: "In Frankfurt, Kentucky, it is ok to hang out your wash on the clothesline on Sunday: in Frankfurt, Germany, it is not!" And so on...
