Chris Noel - 1967

Kinda hard to do a show when the only thing you really know is what day it is.  The ETs could be aired at noon or midnight.  Could be a hurricane or a drought.  These guys did great.  It's a Monday in 1967 and Chris Noel is the Voice of Home...

Herman Griffith - 1964

Time for some music fro the brave and the bold, it's the Records Caravan!  Herman was at KGFJ between 1963-66.  After that he was on our network for a few more years but little is actually known other than he did a great show..

Sugar Report - 1945

More from your Sugar Report.  A few more have been found.  Most of the time WWII shows in AFRS are fairly common.  A few hundred were pressed, several were saved.
The Sugar Report was different.  The show was apparently recorded to acetate for broadcast from the government's shortwave station in California.  So each disk that is found is unique.
The show isn't documented.  The last time I found some of these, Jinx Falkenburg was the host.  I had assumed it was her show. Today Joan Edwards from Your Hit Parade plays excerpts from radio back in the states

This was a project at it's best.  I was contacted and asked "If I pay for those, can you transfer them?" I explained I'm still trying to replace my 16" table.  "I can wait."  Done.  I asked around and found someone to do the transfer.  In the same time frame, we received a donation that covered the postage (click the PayPal box).  It took a lot of people.   John, Doug and Robert, thanks for making this happen.

Chris Noel - 1969

Thank you Chris Noel for sharing the memories.  A few years ago Chris called and asked if I'd like to be able to share these shows.  She had saved most of them.  That was an easy question.  She had finished doing the show before I enlisted but at the station at the 2d Infantry division had saved hundreds of these.  I thought they were perfect radio.  Then and now.

Let's remember 1969 with A Date With Chris.

We Who Fight - 1943

Billboard Magazine - 1943

We Who Fight, a half hour in the We, the People style only for and with servicemen.  This one uses men from all the services of all the nations and aims to keep the men in the Pacific posted on what their allies and comrades are doing on other fronts produced before an audience drawn from people with men in overseas service, uses an army band and a name emcee, who will soon be replaced by a man in uniform.  At the moment there are plans to air We Who Fight for domestic consumption.

This was just recently located
