Ira Cook 1965


Ira Cook was born in Duluth MN in 1916.  He graduated Stanford in basic medical science. He had three decades in radio, sixteen years of that at KMPC.  Other stops included KFAC, KABC and KVFM.  Ira was a WWII vet “During World War II I was at the Battle of the Bulge and we lost 10-15 guys in my platoon”.  He started with AFRTS in 1961 and was still with us in the 1970s.  Ira was also a songwriter.  Some of his compositions include “Pony Tail”, “Sunday Barbeque” and “Your Theme”.  We lost Ira in 2007.
