KMPC was truly represented by AFRTS. I don't know a lot about Johnny Magnus, but here's a 1965 visit. In the picture it's Johnny with RC taken at a Christmas promotion of KMPC.
Magnus was a Los Angeles fixture on Adult radio for decades, it seemed. He would do a musical weather report, with a snazzy bed that had made to order breaks to give the city & temp as he would flowingly recite the report. A unique niche in a market that had dozens of huge names.
