Rebel Randall

After GI Jill and the "GI Jive" and before Chris Noel and a "Date With Chris", we had Rebel Randall and "Jukebox USA".  It was a Korean War program.  Downbeat magazine had said that her show was cancelled after high ranking officers had decided that she was sounding too sexy.

During the Korean War, Rebel Randall did "Jukebox USA" a DJ show for the troops.  Her run with the network was much shorter than GI Jill or Chris Noel but it was good.

Rebel was in several Three Stooges shorts.

Arabian Nights (1942), Booby Dupes (1945), Where The Pest Begins (1945) Society Mugs (1946).

By 1951 she was doing Jukebox USA for our Korean War era troops on AFRS.

Ladies on the radio, from GI Jill, Chris Noel, Mary Turner, LaRita Shelby, Laurie Allen.  Voices from home.  During the Korean War that voice was Rebel Randall.

Huge audience, doing a civilian show in the states where families could call their troop overseas.  Eventually picked up by AFRTS to do a show.  "Jukebox USA".  It only ran for a couple of years.  Rumor at the time was she was talking too sexy for the brass...
