Joe Ferguson 1983

Time for more of the "Joe Show" from 1983 and KUPL Portland (OR).  Ah the memories...

John Doremus 1967

Must be the dinner hour.  John Doremus would create a mood.  There were few who could really do this.  John was also the one that came up with the idea for music on your airplane rides.  Amazing talent.

Gene Price 1975

Journalist Mac Yablonka worked with Gene Price (and Harry Newman) at KLAC.  He did a story on Gene for Stars and Stripes.  Fun memories

While you're reading the story, here's a 1975 visit with Gene

Ira Cook 1971

Have a happy day, you can make the most of it.  Here's a 1971 visit with Ira Cook, California's leading exponent of Hawaiian music.  He's play some every day on his KMPC show.

Mary Helen Barro 1983

Mary Helen Barro has another program of great Latin music...

Charlie Tuna - 1973

It's young Charlie Tuna with a wakeup call..  Visit Charlie's website:!  Good things are coming!

Country Corner 1971

Joe Allison did it all.  Songwriter, Producer, Jock and more.  It was 1971 and a Monday.  Joe's in the Country Corner.

Roger Carroll 1976

Roger Carroll and Tom Smothers

Roger did a LOT of shows.  From the 1950s through the 80s the Happy Hour brought us the Best Sounds in Town.

Roger told me that he and Beverly were in a small town in Arizona, the local station had Roger Carroll on the air.  He wasn't syndicating a program.  Stops at the station, asks for the manager.  "May I have your name please?" "Roger Carroll" (from the offices) "Aw, &%$#!!!" The manager comes out "You're not gonna kill me, are you?".  What happened was the station took the recruiting shows and the AFRTS shows, edited them and put them on the air.  Roger took it more as tribute more than anything else...
