LaRita Shelby 1995

LaRita still keeps it happening.  Take a look at her filmography. We were lucky enough to have her doing a show for us.  This is another one of George's recordings.

At her website, http://www.laritashelby.com there are some wonderful videos (buy the cd!).

Benny Brown AFN 1995

Benny is still wowing the continent after over 15 years.  It started at AFN.  Here's another hour of the weekend show from the network..

Benny Brown remained until 15 July 2015 the “last man standing” from 2-0-8, the fabled English Service of Radio Luxembourg, with his Benny Brown Show that captivated RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg listeners. Now he presents Time Out on Radio 100,7.

Charlie Tuna 1995

Charlie was with us for 25 years, thousands of shows.  Thousands of us at the stations studying how to do that.  In 1995 AFRTS let all of the network jocks go.  The system changed.  From October 1995, here's Charlie Tuna's last show to the world on AFRTS.

Jim Pewter and Mamie Van Doren

Jim Pewter just sent up a bunch of 1995 shows.  Didn't we go to different high schools together?  Thank you Jim.  Thank you Timmy (Radio's best friend)

Benny Brown - AFN

Benny Brown went from AFN to great career in European radio, including Radio Luxembourg blasting all over Europe. In February we heard a different part of this broadcast. Benny Skype'd be to talk about AFN and Radio Lux.  He explained that the breaks sound sloppy in this because of he was feeding the rest of the network.

Welcome back Benny, thanks for great radio!

Mark White 1995 from Berlin

Every three weeks or so Mark White, Rik De Lisle, Peter Dolle, Stan Green and Bill Gaylord get together for lunch at the Europa to look back at the good old days of AFN Berlin and to catch up with what's going on now. Its great fun and the food is good as well.

Robert Barker was in Germany in the early 70s, taped many nice things that we've heard here.  HE wrote a letter to Mark White.  Mark sent him this, a 1995 Big Band show that he did for JFK radio in Berlin.  Happy listening!

LaRita Shelby 1995

Another great aircheck from the George Schilli collection.  George grew up listening to AFN and became a broadcaster.  These were great teachers.

Still an amazing talent, be sure to visit her website at http://www.laritashelby.com
