A few years ago I picked up a lot of these and am finally getting to the transfers.  Network did a great job explaining issues.  This time a dramatization about how hunger led to Mussolini.

 "This is the Story" was a repackaging of anthology shows, sometimes newly recorded with a positive, patriotic theme.

In 1948 Ida Lupino starred in Hallmark Playhouse. December 9, 1948. CBS net. "Woman With A Sword". How a woman helped Abe Lincoln to win the Civil War. Ida Lupino, Gerald Mohr, James Hilton (host), Frank Goss (announcer).  Wonderful story.  AFRS repackaged it as "This Is The Story"

In 1951, the big question about Korea was "Why are we here"?".  AFRTS stepped up to the plate and produced a lot of documentary product.  In this docudrama, we learn the story of communist aggression.  William Woodson, who did tons of voiceover work over the years (Remember the imposing narrator on the 1960s TV show "The Invaders"?) was the announcer, making every word the most important thing that ever happened.  AFKN/AFN-K has been delivering the truth for over 70 years now.

Probably the most important mission of AFRS was education.  Programs like "This Is The Story" helped to answer the "Why are we here?" questions.

Raymond Edward Johnson, from Broadway and the "Inner Sanctum" radio show tells the story of Andrew Hamilton and why there should press freedom.
