Joe Allison 1969

Joe Allison with Red Stegall and Don Light

Joe Allison was the country voice for a long, long time.  Joe was a musician, producer, writer "He'll Have to Go" and a truly fine DJ.  Before Joe, country radio was hillbilly.  He brought it modern.

John Doremus 1969

Talk about a voice.  John Doremus was an Easy listening giant.  In the states he was probably the first voice of music in flight.  Had nightly radio shows on the biggest AM stations for the airlines, and did his show for AFRTS.  Music for the dinner hour...

Joe Allison 1969

Joe Allison really was country music, starting as a DJ in Texas in 1945.  He went on tour hosting Tex Ritter and got Tex to record one of his songs.  From there, Nashville radio until going to a station in Pasadena CA.  Penning "He'll Have To Go". Later to run the country department of Dot Records.  Starting in the mid 60s Joe was recording the Country Corner for AFRTS.

John Doremus 1969

Been a long time since we had a visit with John Doremus.  John was the big voice of soft music after Jim Ameche and before Pete Smith.  He recorded a bunch of PSAs for us that we were using many years after.  He was the one that brought music to air travel.  He hosted a nationwide program of soft muisc on the BIG AM stations in the 60s.  Big talent.
