Mary Turner 1983

    


In the 80s and 1990s Mary Turners show was so popular she had two programs on the network.  Her regular Mary Turner Show and "Off The Record", where she interviewed rock's biggest stars.

She made waves in Los Angeles radio too, and eleven year run at KMET and returning in the 90s to KSLX.  Now she's involved in many charitable causes including the Betty Ford Center in Ranch Mirage.

Norteno is a type of primarily Mexican music that's closely related to polka.  Not surprisingly it was quite the hit with Germans listening to AFN.  It's a small world after all...

Enchantment of Music 1964


 


Throughout the years, AFRTS has showcased an extensive array of classical music, often introducing it to listeners for the first time and fostering an appreciation for this timeless art form. "Enchantment of Music," initially broadcast by KCBH-FM in Beverly Hills, underwent significant efforts to transition its city of license from Los Angeles to the more prestigious Beverly Hills.
