I started in Yongsan in the newsroom. If any story mentioned Korea, it had to be cleared by the 8th Army/UN Command PAO. Send the story over, wait a few weeks and maybe it can be read... or just don't run it in the first place. Compare that to this 1979 aircheck when President Park Chung Hee was assassinated.

Chris's filmography from imdb Working with Elvis and being in Soldier In the Rain, incredible. Starting in 1966 AFRTS got Chris in "A Date With Chris", a pretty incredible piece of radio.
She's also been a prolific writer. Her latest book is about filming "Cease Fire" with Don Johnson. Click Here

AFRS Guam 1965
"Would you like some tape from the Guam station?" AFRS Guam was there in 1944. Radioman Cousin Mike held down the fort on the "Night Beat". I believe that's from the Naval Communication Station at Finegayan, Guam.
It's a pretty good hour..

Don Tracy 1980
Imagine my surprise when I checked the website voicemail and there was a message from Don Tracy, offering whatever help he could. Don sounds great. Don started with AFRTS in 1973 and it was largely a weekend gig that got more interesting as time went by. It took a while for the fan mail to start and he had received a letter from Germany, asking if he'd like to come over as a morale builder. He went to in Nuremberg, to support AFN. A big memory of that was when the Stars and Stripes reporter was going to make him look bad by asking about the government paid boondoggle. It didn't work. Don had taken vacation and paid for the trip out of pocket.

In a bunch of them was this. Jerry Golden and a team from WLS in Chicago produced a documentary about the air war in Vietnam. Take listen to what can be done on recording tape...
